Maya’s first glimpse into the transformative power of beauty came at a young age when her mother, who was paralyzed, used makeup as a way of lifting herself up. Just the simple act of putting on lipstick, even without leaving the house, made a profound impact on her spirit.

Growing up, Maya paid close attention to everything her mother had to share about makeup and skincare. She attributes her passion for beauty in all forms to her mother and continues to draw inspiration from nature, art, the fashion and beauty of decades past, and everything in between.
